A note to the person currently in charge of releases.

A note to the person currently in charge of releases.

This PortableApp is currently being packaged by the original developer. The launcher is not written using PAL, but rather the app's own native language (Java). Is this acceptable for release?

Not Java

I thought it was a custom launcher but not in Java. If the launcher was in Java, it wouldn't work if Java wasn't present, which isn't very user friendly.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

launch4j

Our launcher is written in c. I am going to replace it by launch4j soon. Afterwards I could either use your launcher to run the launch4j launcher or create a portable launcher based on directly on launch4j.

I am not going to run java directly from your launcher because launch4j is more powerful and easier to use with java.

Which of the two options is better for you?

Could you write anything back?

Hi,

I was told if you do not react to my posts I should try again. Could you please give me some feedback to the last test version build with the official Portable Launcher?

Regards,
Dimitry

I'll just say its working

I'll just say its working great for me sir. Very good alternative to FreeMind and especially MindJet's MindManager. The integration with the PortableApps menu is top notch as well. Thanks for the contribution, its great to have the actual app developer supporting the portability of apps.

The topic is not updated

I was looking for freemind and saw that its not being supported here anymore. I could try to update it for the latest version but it's still in version 0.9.0... Then I saw references to freeplane and gave it a try, its far better.
I just noticed that the topic is not updated as there's already a newer stable version FreeplanePortable 1.2.20 and some more as preview.

Cheers,
Sam

That link doesn't work

I know there is a new release of Freeplane 1.2.20, but there doesn't seem to be a release of Freeplane Portable 1.2.20...

Do you (or anybody else) know what it would take to get that to happen? I have a plugin that only works on 1.2.20.

A new release would be greatly appreciated. Any details?

A new release would be greatly appreciated. There's a lot of new functionality that this old version is lacking. Any details on the development?

This app is packaged by the base app developer.

If you check the files on their sourceforge downloads page there is always an up-to-date PortableApps package in the "freeplane stable" folder.
