IT Question

Hi Everybody, I work in IT support and come across alot of PC's with virus/spyware problems and this would seem to help. My question is if you run portable spyware/virus spps on your usb drive will you be able to mount the clients drive and run scans from your usb drive?? Thanks in advance, Domenic

Using Portable Anti-virus

Short answer to your question is yes. When you start Clamwin portable it shows a list of all drives on a host machine plus the USB key/drive from which you can pick one at a time to scan. Just had to clean up a relatives machine on Thanksgiving and clamwin got rid of most of the junk. Then got rid of the long outdated "trial" AV that came installed with the machine and installed AVG free 7.5 for them. Then installed AdAware, Spybot, and Spyware Blaster - result is that the machine is back to being useable. It would be nice though to have one of the spyware apps as a ready to go application available here.
