Firefox 16.0 2nd Profile don't start

Dear John,
After installed Firefox portable 16.0, the 2nd profile don't start more.
I saw that there is a conflict with Torbutton 1.4.6.2, because, removing that addon, the 2nd profile work fine. But the strange thing is that the main Firefox (1st profile) work fine with that addon installed and enabled. Also work fine the Desktop version of Firefox 16.0 with Torbutton 1.4.6.2 installed and enabled.
Only there is a problem with the 2nd profile (version 1.2 in my installation). Why?
It is an unpleasant thing because the 2nd profile is, for me, precisely to work in Tor mode.
Hope to have good news from you.
Thanks for your work and willingness.

Torbutton

We don't do anything special with it. It's not a real extension as it does things outside of a normal extension, so I'm not surprised it has issues. Torbutton isn't supported except in the kinda hacky 'tor browser bundle' which is based on Firefox Portable but unsupported and unsanctioned by Mozilla and PortableApps.com. If you'd like it to work better, I'd ask the Tor folks to officially support it.

Strange! Strange!

I am sorry John, but there must be a reason behind the fact that the Torbutton only give problems in the 2nd profile installation.
Maybe there must be something wrong in the way the 2nd profile operate.
Anyway ....
Thanks!

Not Normal Extension

Torbutton is not a normal extension as it isn't fully self-contained and interacts with Tor running outside of Firefox. But, as I said, since even Tor itself no longer supports it and sabotaged the version on addons.mozilla.org, there's not much we can do to assist.

tor button diabled

the torbutton extension was deliberately broken by Torproject.org submitting an update to it and this disabling its functionality to connect or disconnect Tor to Firefox.
The aim was to 'teach' people still using it to be willing to learn that they are doing something very much wrong.

Therefore remove the addon Torbutton from your Firefox asap.
If you use just normal firefox portable, use of Tor with it is pointless as for proper use and safe Tor operation one needs specially modified Firefox so to block any attempts to run or use some plugins, java or similar existing somewhere on the system.
Continuing to use the Torbutton with normal firefox, you are likely to bypass the Tor network.
