CarotDAV: Cool app

Discovered some time ago, very cool app for pulling down from the cloud (or uploading to the cloud) your files when you are away from home or office, without the hassle of web interfaces.

It's already "portable" (it keeps its data in its directory), but it could be nice to have it packaged as a portable app (so more people will know how cool is it).

Love it

I use it for few months now and I love it.
I would love it even more if PA include it in PA package and keep up with updates. It has portable version already, and it is free with no limitation.
Great app!!!

Another great portable app that does (automatic) cloud backup is called DUPLICATI. It supports relative path when setting up folders for backup.
Fantastic app. I'm not sure if I know how to check registry, etc. to confirm fully portability, and the open source thing, so if anyone is willing to jump in and suggest it, please do.
I run it from PA launcher, but would love to see it in PA package as well.

Only possible problem is that

Only possible problem is that it looks like it's closed source (unless I didn't look hard enough). If one of the admins swings by here and weighs in positively, I'd give it a shot.

Should be fine

This is on the linked page the OP referenced.

This software is free of charge. You can use it personally or commercially. You are also allowed to distribute secondary, fix/alter, do reverse-engineering.

So it looks like its fine. Still doesn't hurt to ask the dev though (out of respect).

It amazes me that on the internet you can be anything you want, and yet so many people still choose to be idiots.

Another caveat I just

Another caveat I just noticed, unfortunately.

".Net Framework 2.0"

It's a .NET application. Which means it probably won't get an official release even if it does well. I'm still going to give it a shot, and if I can get it working I'll email the dev before I release.

It Will

We're adding .NET and Java apps to the app directory shortly. .NET apps won't be shown by default, but we'll be announcing and explaining to people what the limitations are and how to turn them on in the platform's app store.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Ta-Dah

I finally managed to get the application working. Here's the link to the project. By the way, the installer is one of the smallest I've ever seen on a portable app. I hope to keep this one up. Smile
