New Thunderbird Profile - How to do it on Portable Apps?

Hi everyone,

Any idea how to create a new profile for Thunderbird portable? I know how to do it for Thunderbird on my PC,[ thunderbird.exe -profilemanager ] but no idea how to access profile manager on Portable Apps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Second Profile

Profile manager is not portable and only works with local profiles. So, we created another way. Just install Thunderbird Portable 2nd Profile alongside Thunderbird Portable and you'll have a second profile you can use that shows up as a separate icon in the PortableApps.com Menu but uses the same Thunderbird Portable install (so it's not installed twice taking up lots of extra room on your drive).

Thank you. My plan was to copy my old PC TB profile on my PC to the Flash-drive, as I have done with my other computers. I create a profile with profile manager, then delete any content in the new profile, copy my main profile contents to the new profile and I have my old email profile up and running with all my sent and received emails from my main machine.

Thats what I am trying to do. I hope I explained it right.

Got it working, copied my main email profile on my PC to TB portable on my Flashdrive using these instructions, works 100% perfect. Man I love Portable Apps.

----------
Copying Your Local Thunderbird Settings

If you're using a local copy of Thunderbird, you may wish to just copy your local Thunderbird settings right into Thunderbird Portable. Your local Thunderbird profile is usually installed in C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\default.???\ Just copy all of those files to the Data\profile directory within Thunderbird Portable. Sometimes, certain profiles will cause the launcher to fail or hang. In that case, start from scratch and try just copying your mailstores (Mail and ImapMail directories) as well as your prefs.js and abook.mab files.
