[Released] ControlPad Portable 0.72 Development Test 2

Application: ControlPad
Category: Utilities
Description:

ControlPad turns the numeric keypad on your keyboard to a Windows command execution system.

You may configure any numeric code to: Execute any program, open any document, open any web address or send any series of keystrokes to the operating system.

Once ControlPad is running, press and hold the * key on the numeric keypad, for about 1 second. At this point, a small window will pop up, allowing you to enter any keyword or numeric code.

Pressing the code followed by Enter will execute the associated command.

Commands are easily configured through the same interface - activate the input dialog (press and hold *), enter the desired code and press the numpad Divide button to associate a new command.

You may also use words instead of numeric codes.

For laptop users (without a numeric keypad), there is a special Laptop Mode feature which will use F12 (press and hold) instead of * as the launch key.

May I have permission to repackage all your apps for PA.c?

I wanted to make this packaging myself, but did not find time to read how and do it.

Yes, I want my tools to be a part of PortableApps - what do I need to do?

Working Directory:

In Windows, Shortcut (.lnk) file Properties label the option for setting the Working Directory as "Start In:", so he probably means that he wants to set the Working Directory for something he's starting with ControlPad (Portable).

most applications need to be

most applications need to be specified where to start in or "work in" for the application to run properly.

if anyone that has any experience with this they know that if you execute a program without a start in or work in directory they can tell you how the program crashes or reinstalls itself and deletes all user settings and data...and this is a big issue.

its crucial that a start in or work in directory feature be added for this application to be useful universally, maybe you can ask the author to add this?

Ah.

I see what you mean now. I can send an email to the author about it.

optional icon

Aside from the normal AppTemplate updating, and the optional appicon_128 not existing, this looks to me like it's good to go for release.

Yeah.

All apps of mine that don't include that size have icons that would look too blurry if I made them that big. I can go through and see if I can do the adjustments in GIMP rather than IcoFX, but I just started my master's degree so I have even less time than I've had for awhile. Sad

I wouldn't worry about it

I wouldn't worry about it. Not all apps are able to have an icon that large, and most users won't notice, anyway.

Besides, it's an optional size Smile
