autostart portable apps when usb stick is in

Hello,

i installed portable apps on my USB-Stick successfully.
After i put it in i got a windows 7 splash screen which let me choose an action (import videos and pictures, open folder, ...).
I always had to start PortableApps manually by starting the "Start.exe" in the top folder.

Isnt it possible to autostart it when i put my usb-stick in the port?

i edited the autorun.inf as following:

[Autorun]
Icon=PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\usb.ico
Label=PortableApps.com
open=Start.exe

But nothing happend. I always get the splash screen.

Has anyone some hints for that stupid problem?

Thx so far.

Nope

Autostart was removed from all USB drives years ago now in Windows due to security concerns. It's never been supported on Windows 7/8.

We have a test utility to do it in the forums, but it was designed for the old platform. We'll be releasing an official one at some point in the near future.

Is there at least a way to get the pApps 'Start' icon to appear in the Autoplay list that pops up when plugging in a device?

Gee, John

Gee John, it's now been three years. Are you still developing a test utility autostart with this? Or is it now abandonware?

And what's the point of having an Autorun.inf file still in there if it doesn't do anything?

Test One

The test one was updated to work with the new platform and can be used if you'd like it.

The autorun.inf is used only for a custom name and icon. Without an autorun.inf, you're limited to 11 characters in all caps as your drive name for FAT32 drives (the majority of flash drives).

Sorry for the necro....

Just wanted to say how important this little program is to users of portableApps and thanks for updating it to the newer start.exe so we don't have to manual rename it each time we update.

Any news on the GPL so you can have it as an install option?
