An app that all you need to do is click on it to safely remove the flash drive from the computer would be nice..
There is usually an icon in the system tray that does that, at least in XP. If you mouse over it, it says 'safely remove hardware'. If you don't have that, let us know what kind of circumstances you are running in (windows version, admin privileges or not, etc).
that is when I right-clicked on it (on one of the school computers) an error message popped up saying I needed admin privileges.
but when I left-clicked on it, and then left-clicked again on the context menu that asked me if I wanted to remove the specific Removable Drive, I was able to remove it without admin privileges.
Please Make TiLP Portable

It does not require admin privileges, but is command line only, hence scripted use is recommended.
i've used removeDrive myself, but i would recommend looking at USBDeview http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
it has an AutoPlay or Execute a command when you insert a USB device also has command line interface
search for ejectscript
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
Here's a program I'm using for just that. Is handy and might be what you're looking for:
I had an external drive running for hours and hours to stress test it. Then my "remove" icon was gone. Nothing to right click, etc.
Finally found this:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
Just made it an icon on my desktop for emergencies.
this is a great idea
if this were developed i think that a lot of people would use it
develope it yourself if u have to
i'm not wierd, i'm just different
The ability to do a safe eject is built right into the PortableApps.com Platform.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
but still it would be handy if u have more than one usb
