stupid question about upcoming File associations featue - what happens if there are multiple associations?

stupid/silly question about upcoming File associations feature.

What happens when there are multiple PortableApps (PA) running and they have different/conflicting file associations?

eg: PA.1 associates a file type to Program X, and PA.2 associates the same file type with Program Y.

Lets use .jpg in this example

If I have both PA.1 and PA.2 running (easy enough to do with multiple USB devices and/or installed to different hard drives)
and I open a .jpg file, which program opens the file?

Program X? Program Y? Both? Neither?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but as someone who does (occasionally) end up with more than one copy of Portable Apps running at the same time, I'm curious as to how this would be handled.

ps: deep down, I suspect this is less a variant on "stupid question" [Confucius was wrong Blum ], and more a variant on 'no plan survives contact with the enemy' .... maybe "no well designed feature survives contact with a program's user base"?

It Asks

No matter how many apps associate themselves with a given file type, the platform will ask when you double-click whether you want a known portable app to open it (with a drop-down of all apps registered for that file type), whether you want to define an app yourself, or whether you want the local PC to handle opening it with its registered app. And it gives you the option to to remember this for next time. You will also be able to change this selection from within the PA.c Options window's File Associations tab since it will be integrated into the platform proper (so secondary EXEs or secondary taskbar icons). There will also be a way to select one of the secondary apps from the right-click menu when you want as well.

No

We don't give exact dates or even estimates for individual releases. Even when we label it an estimate, some users get mad if the estimate slips.
