Generally, this means it's blocked and sometimes automatically removed by a corporate/university antivirus package. If Chrome can't be downloaded by the live installer, it will fail and not install. If an error occurs as it tries to unpack the download, it will error and tell you (but you haven't said anything about that). So, it likely downloaded and installed fine. But then disappeared. I've only seen that happen with corporate antivirus packages set to specifically remove chrome.exe.

Help!, Help!
I too tried to update Google Chrome Portable through PortableApps and now have the 'not found' message appearing when attempting to run it.
I just added a ton of bookmarks to some pretty hard to find links and have never used PortableApps backup!
Should I just attempt to completely reinstall PortableApps or? PortableApps says that GoogleChromePortable is 'up to date'.
So what can I do now?
BTW, Win7 restore/rollback will not rollback to previous PortableApps installations. -Guess that's because it's not in the registry?
Another BTW...
In my case, there was NO message of a download or installation failure from PortableApps
Also I'm in a home (no corporate VPN's or tunnels) environment and only running the MS Defender crap not any 3rd party commercial anti-vir pgms.
I have the same problem. Can't we just d/l chrome.exe from someplace and paste it in the correct folder?
