- Picked up from Pyromaniac's release. All props go to him, I just updated to version 2.0.0.
Normally everything should keep working, if not, let me know
Thanks for the update. I haven't use the older release of Portable MiPony (but I have used the regular MiPony on a couple of occasions)
I went into the Options to change some setting and noticed that the default download location is set to C:
ps: the download link says MiPony 1.2.1 (the downloaded is 2.0.0)
About the default download folder:
that was also the case in the old release, I changed it to Data\downloads in dev test 2.
In fact, this makes this release even more portable
Thanks for helping me notice that typo, it's fixed now.
If there are any other problems, just let me know.
Yes, I set the working directory!
As a quick and (very) simple I downloaded Dev Test 2 from Mediafire using the Dev Test 1 version with no problems , so it's working for me.
updating Dev Test 2 over the top of Dev Test 1 the default download directory is still in C drive.
installing Dev Test 2 into a clean directory and the default download directory is Data\downloads
alas, that is probably about as much testing you'll get from me (don't have the technical knowledge/ability to check if anything is being left behind and don't use MiPony enough to know what it should or should not be doing)
Mipony 2.0.1 released.
I'll update in a few days, I'm kinda busy atm.
I'm not sure, but I think you can simply extract the installer with Universal Extractor and replace the files in the App\Mipony directory.
That's only for the people who are really impatient, also I don't guarantee full portablility
EDIT: updated
Let me know if anything goes wrong or something ain't fully portable.
Yes, I set the working directory!
Hello Bennieboj,
Thank you for doing this. I find it really great to have a portable app that allows you not to lose anything when you go from one computer to another (or from one operating system to another). I am a bit disappointed when for any unknown reason a software company does not release anymore portable version of there app.
By the way, there is a new version of Mipony released : 2.0.2 if are still interested in this app portability.

Maybe you could lighten your pictures.
I'll update in a few weeks, I'm kinda busy...
Note: You might want to make a copy of the MiponyPortable folder before doing this! Backups are your friend!!!
In the meantime you can extract the Mipony 2.0.3 installer yourself using Universal Extractor (or install the program locally for a minute) and replace the files you extracted (or installed) and replace them in the MiponyPortable folder.
I assume the program structure hasn't changed that much. Or you can always keep using the old portable version if you don't mind waiting a few weeks longer...
EDIT: updated to 2.0.3

Hello,
This is great !
Thank you very much for updating Mipony Portable.
Nice way to start a year indeed. Note I always keep the older versions of the software as I like backup too.

So first of all, a big thank you for making this app available on Portable Apps. Very useful.
Now, I do have a couple of suggestions to make this more portable-friendly, so to speak.
Options > Advanced tab > Add "Download with Mipony" option to the Internet Explorer menu
==> This is enabled by default, when it probably shouldn't be for a portable version.
Right click on a file > Download Link Via Web
==> If you do this, surprise! the link opens in... IE! or whatever is the default browser on the local machine, I assume. This is NOT good for a Portable app that's supposed to leave no trace. I'm not sure if this can be easily fixed, though, as I can't even find an option in the settings to modify the browser it'll open the link in (I was initially expecting it to open the link in its own in-built browser, since it DOES have one, weird). Ideally, it should do just that, use the inbuilt browser, or use whatever browser is installed in the PortableApps media (though if more than one is installed, it could get tricky). Another possibility (if none of the above is possible) would be to simply disable/gray out the "Donwload Link Via Web" line in the right click menu, to avoid unpleasant surprises :-o
Anyway. Hope this helps.
A portable application is not meant to be invisible, something which would be exceptionally difficult to achieve with an application running under Windows or any operating system for that matter.
You will most likely achieve this with booting to something like a live linux distribution or similar, such that you bypass the default OS completely.
Instead it is about not leaving any intentional modifications behind, and to keep a consistent behaviour between uses on different computers.
The next release of the platform "may" contain portable associations, whereby if an application attempts to open a file by its extension, then if a portable application is set up to handle that extension, then it should open in that instead.
I am not sure if that can apply also to web links, but it may do.
However some applications will launch it in IE manually, removing that choice.
If at first you do not succeed, use more sticky tape.
