co-creator of Splash! - The Splash Screen Extension
I was googling around and saw that some of your members recommended this extension.
I am currently developing splash! 2.0
I have had some complaints about Firefox portable and drive letters changing making the URL invalid...So I am adding relitive to Firefox binary URL support(!BIN!/splash.png)
I am also adding:
Update allwaysontop
Update close splash on main window to limit options(Because of the problems it causes with some options)
Update progress bar
Update in option screen preview so that it isn't so buggy
Add option to load firefox while splash
Add an about:config option to override
Add about:splash to show current splash options
Add more than one built in splash
Add splash profiles
Add Sound on exit
Add Relitive splash image
Add Splash import/export
Add fade in/out
Add a progress bar width setting
Add an update and Splash! profile tracking system much like the one in firefox..(With an XML file with information such as settings, ImageURL, author, and such)
Add random splash
I will also be adding a splash screen Database(Like AMO and such)
I am posting to see if you have any suggestions, complaints, splashes(To be included with Splash! 2.0...And you will be getting full credit), or to join the dev team.

I use Splash on both Firefox Portable and normal Firefox. It's a great extension.
One other feature you could add would be to add a way to get the profile directory with like !PROFILE!

Thanks, I was planning on: !PROFILE!, !APP!, and !EXTENSION!.
I just thought of something while reading your signature...Adding a list of splash texts(Instead of one string) and it randomly selects one.
Splash texts... as in the splash it makes when it enters the sewers?

I was thinking someone could do a random funny quote thing

Good idea, maybe one could get a random "Quote of the Day" from a website and display it.
