How do you keep your copy of PFF secure?

I know we can use the Master Password to protect profile passwords, but I was wondering how other users 'secure' their own copies. I'm not doing anything yet, but was considering using Cryptainer. What do you guys prefer to keep your Firefox secure?

Truecrypt

Setup a whole secure virtual drive and run all your apps from that.

I'll look into it, thanks

I've heard this mentioned before, forgot to look at it. I'll look into it. Right now I'm just dragging a caseless jumpdrive around (wrapped in electrical tape, then duct tape) to work, and I have several computer to use throughout the day. PFF is a total life saver. Biggrin

Yep

I agree with John. While Cryptainer may seem to have the same features as TrueCrypt, there is a 25MB encryption limit. TrueCrypt has no such limit.

I'm looking into it. Can I install it to the usb stick or do I need to put it on each computer?

USB Stick

Only caveat is that it is Windows XP/2000 only and requires admin privs. I'm working on another secure option for the apps that will work on Win9x and non-admin accounts.

TrueCrypt has a "traveller mode"

that means, TC must not be installed on another computer. TC driver

But you have to install TC on your system, to create "Traveller Disks". After installing TC to your computer click on Tools -> Traveller Disk Setup

But there is something you shoud know:
1) You need administrator privileges in order to able to run TrueCrypt in ‘traveller’ mode.
2) After examining the registry file, it may be possible to tell that TrueCrypt was run on a
Windows system even if it is run in traveller mode.
*taken from TC manual!

I am using TrueCrypt 3.1a at the moment. I know, there is already a newer version, but i was a little bit lazy *g* So menu items could be changed.

I don't know, if you can run TC in traveller mode without administrator privileges now! Perhaps it's now easier. Please look at:

www.truecrypt.org

*UPDATE: I have just read tc 4.1 manual. Unfortunaly it's still THE SAME! You need administrator privileges to load TC driver in 4.1, too! Sad

No biggie. I'll use

No biggie. I'll use Cryptainer's thumbdrive option, or... zip the entire thing up and flip it with EDXOR
