logoµTorrent Portable 3.3.0.29126 has been released by PortableApps.com. µTorrent is the world's most popular BitTorrent client. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). This release updates µTorrent to the latest release. Note that uTorrent no longer supports relative paths internally, so will require manual adjustment if you switch paths relative to the drive root. It's packaged as a portable app so you download on the go and it's in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. It's released as freeware for personal and business use.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotµTorrent is the world's most popular BitTorrent client. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet). Additionally, µTorrent supports the Protocol Encryption joint specification (compatible with Azureus 2.4.0.0 and above, BitComet 0.63 and above) and peer exchange.

µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all.

Various icon, toolbar graphic and status icon replacements are available, and creating your own is very simple. µTorrent also has support for localization, and with a language file present, will automatically switch to your system language. If your language isn't available, you can easily add your own, or edit other existing translations to improve them!

uTorrent 3.3 has dropped support for relative paths. So, users upgrading to uTorrent Portable 3.3 will need to manually adjust their torrent and download paths if they were using the old ..\Data defaults. A message window with instructions will show on first run after upgrade:

MANUAL CHANGE REQUIRED: uTorrent removed support for relative paths in 3.3. Prior versions of uTorrent Portable made use of relative paths. When uTorrent starts, you will need to update your paths within Options - Preferences - Directories. Set Downloaded files to 'X:\PathTo\uTorrentPortable\Data\downloads' and Store torrents in to 'X:\PathTo\uTorrentPortable\Data\torrents'. If you have any torrents in progress, you may be able to resume them by right-clicking, selecting Advanced and then selecting the downloads directory.

Please note that uTorrent Portable will need to have these settings manually adjusted if you move paths relative to the root of the drive. It can handle drive letter changes, but not path changes in its current form. We are working on a more complete fix with full relative path change support, but it is not yet finished.

This release also fixes 3 registry keys that were left behind in the previous uTorrent 3.3 release.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Is it utorrent that removed support? Don't suppose you could speculate as to why they'd do that after all this time seeing as its a portable app by nature?

And of course, thanks for fixing this I wasn't keen on qtorrent.

Live for an ideal and leave no place in the mind for anything else.

uTorrent dropped relative path support in 3.3.0. Not sure why, but it's entirely gone. uTorrent hasn't really been portable in a while. It even automatically 'installs' itself, listing itself in the local machine's Uninstall list on every run. I updated the launcher to remove that on exit.
