Is there any possibility that coming down the pike will be the ability in the PortableApps Platform to change the Download Directory for updates so that I can save a backup of the installers?

Is there any timeframe on this feature?
Now that platform development is back underway more consistently (our first stable release today is a long time), it'll be in the near future. It's not that difficult a feature to add, we just needed to wait on the Options window being re-arranged to accomodate many tabs. We'll be doing a new stable release every month or two, so working it in one of the upcoming ones is definitely doable.

Any new status on this feature?
As you can see in today's release announcement, upcoming features & outstanding bugs are going to be reviewed for prioritization in the short-term future. No timeline is available for either when that will happen or when a particular feature will be implemented.
