Development Test 2 (2013-02-21): Bugs fixed
- Minor bugs/typo in appinfo.ini and launcher.ini (thanks darksabre76)
Development Test 1 (2013-02-21): Initial release
- It uses a trimmed down version of MKVToolnix to keep the package small. Only the necessary Files are included.
The package seems to work just fine; great job on that. There's just a couple of minor things that could be edited.
1) I know that MKVToolNix leaves behind a little bit in the registry and the %APPDATA% folder. I'm not sure if MKVExtractGUI references anything that creates them, but if it turns out it does, you can copy the code in MKVToolNix Portable and put it in the launcher.ini file:
2) Under the Version section of appinfo.ini, I notice the version and display version are notably different. It's okay to have a 5 space version number, so you can have 2.2.2.9.1 for Dev Test 1. Also, a little tip that another dev had given me is that the package version should be one below the display version, just in the event it gets an official release. So instead of:
You can have:
3) Under the License section of appinfo.ini, you can write OpenSource=true, because I think that MKVExtractGUI-2 is open source
4) Last thing, in the launcher.ini, use a "=" instead of a ":" in the SplashTime. It doesn't affect too much practically, but it just keeps it in line with convention
Thanks for the comment darksabre76.
I have changed all your points accept the first one.
I have checked the app with regshot and it doesn't leave anything behind as far as i have noticed. I only included the necessary command line files, so i think it won't be a problem.
I didn't get a chance to do the regshot myself, hence I added it just in case. New version looks good, and it seems to be working just fine. Only other thing is the post itself you have 2.2.9 as the title and the link name. Just switch that over to 2.2.2.9 and you'll be set.
I notiiced that the download link doesn't work, fixed now
