hi.
i have a complete version of rollercoaster tycoon 1 deluxe and rollercoaster tycoon 2 triple thrill.
it can be possible having a portable launcher for these two games?
i konw that there are some registry keys necessary for the games.....
thanks.
Dani
These programs are both pay-for and closed source, so they could never legally be released here. I am sure it is possible that you can create your own portable version for private use, but nobody would be able to post their results here without being taken down. It is possible that if you use the GOG.com versions, it would minimize the amount of work needed, but other than that, no dice.
ok thanks.
is there a manual for make my personal launcher?
this is my first...
In general, everything about packaging can be found under the development section. Under there, the "Packaging Portable Apps" group is where you should look for info. Also, looking at other apps can give you an idea of how they are set up and work. The full reference can be found here. I hope this helps.
thanks a lot.
i'll try.
i downloaded and installed nsis and the installer.
but I would not mind help
there are only two registry keys to modify,
one for the installation dir and the second for the game dir.
The full reference has a section on how to deal with registry items here. It may take some trial and error to deal with the directory, but it should be doable.
it would be awesome to have a portable version of rollercoaster tycoon 1&2 but i would be worried about the size of the programs and the need for a cd/dvd.
but then again there are no cd/dvd cracks for the programs but not too sure the dev's would be too keen on having a "cracked" copy of a game on the site
just thouht i would voice my consernes about the app
but otherwise would be awesome to have on my usb!!!
i'm not wierd, i'm just different
As previously mentioned, the OP could never post the actual result of their efforts but could probably share the launcher.ini file they create to deal with files, folders, and registry items. If you are also interested in doing it yourself, look at the Good Old Games version which has no need for a CD and is standalone. They also have RCT2 and 3 for those who want them.
