PokeMMO Client

As it sounds, it's a Pokemon MMO. The client requires a Java Runtime Environment (and jPortable is the only way it can work on my computer).

Well anyway, I don't need this completely Portable. Just want it to work with the portable JRE. Anyone know how I can do this?

I'm afraid all Pokemon based

I'm afraid all Pokemon based MMO's that aren't licensed by Nintendo are in violation of Nintendo trademark. We can't legally do it here without getting in legal trouble. Sorry Cry

Let's continue this

Let's continue this conversation on another website. Where's a good forum for discussing this?

Sent from either Mac OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion x64, Windows 8 Professional x64, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal x64, on my MacBook Pro mid-2009; or possibly from my Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on Samsung Galaxy SIII. In any case, it's Google Chrome.

Has there been progress?

I understand it would be illegal to talk about it here, but i was wondering if there had been any progress and if so, how was it done? I made this account especially for this post so im not sure but im assuming you could PM me the details?
Much appreciated - David

Loophole, this isn't illegal

"See, other Pokémon MMO’s were closed due to “Unauthorized use” of Nintendo property, in this case the Pokémon franchise. Even when the developers of said games made not a single red cent from their labor of love, it’s still illegal to use any of their property if Nintendo doesn't want you to. Given that it’s their second most profitable franchise (behind Mario), it’s unlikely that they’re going to let anyone take a slice of their pie, cash or no cash. The pie is the precious, and they’ll guard it with their lives.

Where was I? Oh right; Other Pokémon MMO’s were shut down that way but it’s unlikely that PokéMMO will make the same mistake. It’s not the PokéMMO client that uses Nintendo’s property, it’s the users themselves that need to provide that content and it’s up to those users to do so legally, not the PokéMMO devs.

In order to play the game, users must provide their own image or ROM of Pokémon Fire Red, which are commonly believed to be legal to own and/or possess if you own a physical copy of the game itself. Any user who obtains the ROM illegally or distributes it in any way – hell, even just encouraging others to obtain it – can land them in some very hot water, but leave the PokéMMO devs and also the Pokemmo Client untouched."- TOBIAS MASTERS [TOB]

So, in other words no one would get in trouble here and no one would be in any violation unless you are trying to provide ways to download the IMAGES, or ROMS of Pokemon games. All the OP is trying to do is find a way to get the Pokemmo Client to run on a mobile device as it can be fun to play portable for this type of game.
