In the latest version, JPEGView added the ability to add file associations.
They get saved to the registry like this:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpeg\UserChoice
Does anyone know of an app that has support for this already built in? I havent worked with Pal and the Registry much lately so I could use a head start.
BTW: Thats the reason behind the update delay of JPEGView

I think you should ignore and release for now. Unfortunately, this is a shared key, so backing up and restoring could affect other apps run while the app is running. We could also wind up with a collision (two portable apps backing up and restoring) that could result in the loss of the original key.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I would say, that HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpeg is indeed a shared key. But the relevant key is in this case HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.jpeg\UserChoice. And is this last key also a shared key?
Email is on the way.
