I know it is a broad question, I am referring more to the permissions a user requires to run the apps. I have a thumb drive with portable apps installed and the apps I want are installed. If I take this thumb drive into college am I able to use the apps without any special permissions? The system is fairly restricted so I am curious as to how exactly the system works so I can judge whether I am breaking any rules in regards to the colleges computer usage policy. Any help is very much appreciated.

It will work on any standard or limited Windows account. No admin or special rights are required.
Some colleges will have some very locked down PCs where nothing can be run from the USB. It will not work on those.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks for the speedy reply, I expect it should work then thanks for your help!
