PDF files in firefox

Any idea how to open pdf files in current firefox so it is open with the adobe pdf reaader and not with the firefox own pdf viewer?

The adobe pdf is installed on the host machine in its current version, the plugin is also listed in the plugin list.

However when a link with pdf is opened, the pdf document attempts to open in the firefox own pdf viewer which unfortunately makes many pdf files just a whipe page.

That's a Firefox question (not Firefox Portable) and is answered over here: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/950939

managed

meanwhile I managed to switch that strange thing off as it shows just abt every 2nd pdf correctly and is therefore not so much of use.
