PAP LOG

i wish that pap would have feature someday to sort by last updated or installed apps but i just get better idea

why not have simple text log about what actions you did last ?

that log would contain any or some actions user made with pap

like last apps used installed updated removed or track of any other activity that would be useful as information

like simple history file

would that be possible ?

Not Planned

There's not much use to such a log. And it would take some doing as the installers are the ones that update the apps (not the platform). The updater knows it ran an installer and whether it succeeded, but not whether you cancelled, etc. So, updating 300+ individual installers as well as the platform. That's a lot of work for not much benefit.

You've asked some form of this question multiple times now. At the moment, logging is not planned for the platform. There is (very) rudimentary logging within the installers when not run in silent mode (just saving the contents of the NSIS install log shown on screen in a file) but no additional logging is planned.

i was hoping that log would

i was hoping that log would be very easy to do

and is it bad i would want some features and im looking for easiest way to get it ?

that log could contain crash info or anything else useful for users

even without logging what apps we installed or updated i think that log would be useful thing

but since it would be from each app side and not from pap side i dont think its worth it

No Crash Data

The thing is, it wouldn't contain crash data. The only way an app can do that is if we wrote a crash monitor and reporter top monitor the PA.c Platform or installer for crashes specifically. Mozilla has one they wrote for Thunderbird and Firefox, for instance.

like

[04.04.2013-08:05]PAP started
[04.04.2013-08:20]PAP launched ZoomItPortable
[04.04.2013-08:25]PAP check for updates..
[04.04.2013-08:32]PAP starts installing updates
[04.04.2013-09:17]PAP installing new apps
[04.04.2013-09:17]PAP shutting down PAP...

something like that i dont care what would that log contain i just care it would give us track of stuff we or ppl who uses our PC done with PAP
