SkiFree

This is a good game that is already portable. Many of you have probably seen this before.

The Portable Freeware write-up:

http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=568

You can go there and it gives you a link to the website where you can download it. No nonsense, just a .zip package and one exe.

Is it possible to get past

Is it possible to get past the monster? I never could back in my Windows 3.11 days.

but it's hard, you have to jump just right so that you can get sideways and out of the way. You can't jump over him though.

registry?

Are they saved there? There appears to be nothing there. It says on Portable Freeware that it writes nothing anywhere.

It's a Windows 3.1 app.

It's a Windows 3.1 app. The only thing the registry was used for in 3.1 was file associations, I believe.

Edit Oops, just realized this thread is 2 weeks old. Sorry for bumping it! Man do I wish there was a way to mark the entire board as read. The "X new" thing really bugs me, and the only way to make it stop saying there are new posts in a forum is to read all its threads (well, not necessarily read them, but at least load them).

All right. :)

Thanks. Anyway, yeah, SkiFree writes its highscores to entpack.ini in C:\WINDOWS. I just checked.

oh well

I still think that it isn't such a big deal, considering the nature of the app.
