New feature: Popup menu item with all installed portable applications

Hello, I am/was a pStart user and I recently switched to the PortableApps.com platform. I like the automatic update feature but I think that the PortableApps.com menu is just too big. I would prefer a simple popup menu with all the installed applications, just like pStart.

I've adjusted the source of v11.2 just a little bit and added a new menu item to the taskbar popup menu, see http://i48.tinypic.com/25sojdx.png
What do you think of adding such a feature to the new PortableApps.com Platform release?

Gets my vote.

I'm an ASuite user and agree with you about the size of the PA.com menu. I also prefer a cascading menu, just move the mouse over the entries, no clickety-clicking.

It would be great if this alternative menu method could be added to the official menu.

You say you adjusted the source - did you compile it and have it running as a working menu?

Menu

That's right. Last week I had contact with John Haller en they were planning on adding similar functionality to the platform but never quite got around it. He's interested in my changes and hopefully it will be part of the new release.

Excellent

Thanks for posting this. Works perfectly. Hope it can be added to the next release. May we see the source code? (sorry for the double post, can a mod delete the one above?)

Coming

Kloas76 and I are in touch via email and we'll hopefully be bringing this to the platform beta shortly. The source will be included under the GPL, as always.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Source (main.pas)

The last email message I received from John is dated May 29, 2013, since then I have not heard from him. Therefore, you can find the changed main.pas and main.dfm via the following link: http://www.filedropper.com/main_2
