Opera Mail

Opera has decided to make their mail/rss reader stand-alone, and I believe their client deserves to be "portableized". I prefer its simple and quick interface to TBird or other portable mail clients. So here's my vote and request that Opera Mail be packaged in PortableApps format. Thanks.

It Will

It will be. But it's not finalized yet and we likely won't be doing beta builds. For now, users should continue to use Opera's built-in mail client. Once Opera Mail is stable (which appears to be happening before Opera switches to the new Chrome-based email-less version), we'll package it up.

In the latest, final, release

In the latest, final, release there is an option for stand-alone (Portable) install.
In the main menu click "Options"
Then in the Drop down menu, "Install for"
The option for "Stand-alone Installation (USB)"

Not sure if it leaves traces, though

Yes it does but I prefer the PortableApps version because of the better updating mechanism and my undying love for PA.
