When ran, it placed a scheduled task to check for program updates. The task did not delete when I closed the app. Can someone verify?

The portable version does not support a boot time defrag by design.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

It's not only "Boot Time Defrag" (and this feature was okay in 2.7), it's also the point "Defragment when fragments exceed" in General Settings.

No matter what I change, after restarting the app all custom settings are gone. And this only happens since version 2.8! All other version were okay, since I'm using them for months.

I just checked the functionality of that particular item, and it works here as expected.

How are you restarting the app? It could be something related to your workflow that's causing the app to revert, unrelated to the portablization code.

Before I restart the app I close it via "Exit" from the context menu in the system tray.

I even copied the app into different user accounts (Windows 7 Ultimate) and run it from each account but still the same problem.

Maybe Windows needs to be reinstalled.... Pardon
