I'm a bit swamped

I've just been a bit swamped and as I told you in a previous personal message on mozillaZine, I already have a version of PFF Live in testing that is written in NSIS and works hand-in-hand with the new Portable Firefox 1.5 but uses a single, integrated launcher... so, for instance, the splash screen is visible the whole time files are being copied into the temp directory. I had asked to see your code in that PM to see if there were any ideas that could be adopted into the main project or if you were taking the same approach, but had never gotten to see it as the last version you released (that I had checked out) was just the binary.

Ooops.

Looks like I confused you with another thing I was working on. Sad

As I mentioned...

I'm incorporating code to do "Live" directly into the standard Portable Firefox launcher, so there'll be no more reason for a seperate "Live" launcher. The only thing that's been holding things off is that I was hoping to do it at the same time as the updated multilingual launcher which I'm also working on.

Please don't create a fork of my project with the exact same name as the old project I'm replacing ("Portable Firefox Live"). It'll only confuse people to have multiple projects with the same name by different people. Sad

My version is as well

Like I said, I've already done the work to integrate it cleanly. I was waiting on the localization code for the next release before releasing it, that was the only reason for the delay. Having another version up at MozDev with the EXACT same name as mine will only create confusion.

Thanks for understanding...

Thanks for understanding, Ryan. I appreciate it.

And your offer of assistance with NSIS is *much* appreciated. I'll be publishing code soon that I could use quite a few eyeballs on. All contributations get credit in the source and on the project pages, of course... and my undying gratitude.

And I'll be posting the new PFF Live code next week as well as Portable OO.o Live... so your help (and anyone else's) is much appreciated.

Another new open source portable app? Anything I can do to help?

EDIT: contributations? I was gonna edit this and fix the typo... but I think I like my new word Smile

Other than beta test

not really.
It's a menu/launcher the simple way. Written in, wouldn't you know it, NSIS Blum

Oh I'll have a look.

P.S. I uploaded my version of the sync utility. You can get it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/profilesync

Also did you get any of my three e-mails I sent 2 weeks ago?
