I think you should mention that. I just assumed your launcher spares the need to run setup_xampp.bat. Turns out it's still needed.
I'm used to your launchers doing such things on their own.

setup_xampp.bat installs it for the current PC. XAMPP itself is not relative path but can be configured manually. XAMPP Lite is relative by default and the better choice for portable use.

Can you post more info of making portable xampp work. I tried to put xampp on a cloud folder without success. The portableapps.com xampp page is not clear enough for me. Thanks. and XAMPPLauncher.exe doesn't work.
You're right that it's not clear. That's the very reason for this topic.
This is incorrect. As John stated, setup_xampp.bat does not need to be run. I don't have my computer in front of me at the moment, but will update this evening when I do.
XAMPP itself does not support install to a relative path. To run portably, you're supposed to edit the paths in the different components to be relative. Or, you just run the setup bat file, but that may have other consequences.
XAMPP Lite has relative paths by default and is the better choice to use portably.

Aren't those default relative folders only work if you run XAMPP from the root folder? I don't think you can run XAMPP Lite from c:\...................\something1\something2 without running that batch file first.
I think you're correct.

My way always been to run full-xampp on the usb but to set the usb to O:Xampp/
I always been bumbed not to be able to put the folder in a sub folder and if you use public computer it's a hassle to set the letter to "O:" each times but as i only use it on pc i own i only have to set it once.
