New Multilingual Normal vs All Sets
With the 4.1.0 release, we've updated the language set included in the smaller 'Normal' vs 'All' package to reflect the top 11 languages spoken online. The Normal package now includes English (US and
GB), Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German,
Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian and Portugal), Russian,
and Spanish. Users looking for Danish, Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, and Polish should now download the MultilingualAll package instead of MultilingualNormal. Platform users, the correct package will be automatically selected for you.
Pity...
I haven't read this post before, so got a bit surprised when the
"Normal" installer asked me about the language options. Full disappointment came afterwards, when I realized there is no Polish UI in the installed suite... The answer was here. Now I will have to download the "All" version just to have the extra languages removed. +50MB of wasted bandwidth...
Balance
It's all about balancing size. And Polish has a much smaller online population than Arabic and the other languages included in the default (either English or Chinese by themselves have more online users than all languages outside the top 10 combined). We've been debating switching it to just 'All' for everything.
Virus warning - hopefully false positive
After installation of Libre Office 4.1, Norton internet security automatically isolates two files: libxml.dll and unopkg.exe. Therefore, to start LO4.1 at all, you must first allow these two files to be restored.
That is the first time for me that a Libre Office file was considered to be infected.
Well, hopefully it was right to restore the suspicious files. Beside that, now everything works as usual.
Norton/Symantec
Norton/Symantec has more false positives than any of the other major antivirus engines, especially their heuristic engine (read: not definitions of known malware, just a 'guess' it 'might' be something bad). You'll need to wait for them to fix their latest issue. I'd suggest reporting it to them and submitting a sample.
I confirm the trojan alert
I confirm the trojan alert with the Norman antivirus. It said is a Conficker trojan infection.
Not sure why but
4 attempts at updating via platform on 2 different machines both give me the following error message http://imgur.com/M3kVh76
Same here.
Same here.
Not sure why but
I'm getting the same error, ever since the last update.... could someone please leave information on this error?
Thanks....
