Hi,
There is 3 part on my HDD:
C:\ Windows 7
E:\ Ntfs part (includes just my document files and portable apps)
F:\ Windows 8
I format Windows 8 and Windows 7 yesterday.
Now I can write for files on E:\ part with admin user. But windows 7's and windows 8's normal user can not write subdir of E:\.
Taht's why I can not use some portable apps They start as ready-only mode which is not good for me.
How can I give full-control permission for all user of Windows 7 and Windows 8 (admin and other normal users) for E:\ and it's subdirs?
I don't want to give spesific username's on each file on E:\. Everyone should have full control permissions on these files.
Thank you
Right-click on the E drive in Explorer and select properties. Select the Security tab. On there, there are two possibilities. One, that might work, is to give Authenticated users Full control. I'm not sure, however, if that setting is consistent across Windows versions. The other is Everyone. If you set Everyone to full control, every Windows OS can access it properly. I'd recommend that, personally. When you click OK, let it recursively go and propogate to all subdirectories and files. It'll take a while but you only need do it once.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
That fixed my problems for now. I could not test it on the same machine with two different Windows versions for now... But I will look it. Now I am OK.
Thank you so much
