Hi Guys,
I have a Sony PSP and, has many of you know, PSP uses Default Folders to store Pictures, Music and Video. We can´t rename delete or move those folders, so that PSP knows where to get the data. I have replaced the folders in Portable Apps for shortcuts pointing to those folders but i had to create a shortcut like this "D:\PHOTO".
My question is: If i connect my PSP to a computer in wich he assumes the Disc drive has E: or another letter differnet from D: i won´t be able to access the PSP folders using the Portable Apps Menu, i will have to use the explore disc shortcut.
Is there any way to configure the shortcut to use the drive letter assigned for the PSP? Like in Windows when we do %systemroot% and he points to the Windows folder no matter the drive letter.
Thanks a lot.
SR
You could put Pstart on there, as that uses relative paths, you could makes shortcuts in it's launcher and it would work - but not in the way you (and I!) would like!
Is there a proper way to write shortcuts like this?
Well, at least you could make it into a one click process...
I've been using a little tool I made for myself for a while now, it was originally made to simulate shell integration for portable apps by placing shortcuts to the user's SendTo menu, but desktop or start menu are also possible.
I don't have a PSP, but from what I read in this thread it is possible to run apps from it when connected to a PC, so this should work, too.
A few paths have to be copied to an *ini.file before first use, but it's a single click solution when used on a day-to-day basis (take a look at the readme.txt first). Command line arguments for on start/on exit scripts exist. A simple backup tool is also included.
You are free to use it at your own risk, but keep in mind that it has only been tested on XP, so please drop me a line if it does or doesn't work (including OS, language and bug description).
Download RDTools
Open-Source? I would check myself, but the link doesn't work.

Sorry, must have been a temporary problem, works now. Please try again.
The app folder now includes the source.
Seems the server ain't working.

I'm baffled, I tried the download link a few times since I posted yesterday, and it worked every time, even right now, and the server seems up and running.
Maybe this is a three-continent-problem, as, obviously, we both are able to post here... I had some minor trouble connecting to non-european sites during the christmas season, maybe now it's the same, just the other way round, dunno.
Anyone else having problems with the download link? Please tell.
For the time being I can give you this alternate link, but that's borrowed webspace, so I will have to remove it soon.
Hope that works!
That alternate link works.
If you need hosting, I can offer you some.

If the primary download link still causes trouble and there is interest in this tool, I'd really appreciate that
Thxalot
Neat bit of software! Good idea, and well implemented. Would be good if it could scan a folder for applications, but I'd imagine that would be pretty tough to add.
Thank you, Rich, glad you liked it. Actually, I'm not a developer, but I'd like to see this idea picked up by a pro and built into something bigger, say, a Suite/Menu/App Launcher/USB Tool Box, for us to download and enjoy
Until that happens, you are welcome to use RDTools. It now can be downloaded from Ryan McCue's site, who was so kind to place it there:

'Tis a good little app.
I'll try and get some support pages up for it.

Special thanks to you, Ryan. That's far more than what you originally offered!
I have support pages for most apps, 'cept Truck- and Stair-dismount Portable, cause they don't need them
I'll need some help on your part though
