Unable to find the registry entry in question after running the portable version in Windows 8 Professional. What value is being written to that location?
It's added when a file has been played. (audio or video)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\InterVideo\Common
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\InterVideo\Common\AudioDec
Win7 x64 SP1
Tested again with both audio and video played and still I couldn't see those entries appear. After a little research, those registry items are probably left there by a local codec being used by MPC, the most likely culprit being WinDVD by Corel (who owns InterVideo).
