yes

well we could also just extract the exe alone from one of the windows builds, otherwise sure I think we should get update for it here as well.

GPG Checksum mismatch

Hi

Please take a look at the checksum presented at link:
https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#encryption

It won't match with the newly released 1.4.15.
I checked this with
https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/winmd5sum_portable
and
http://winmd5.com/
and I can't get a match with either of these softwares.

Neither do versions 1.4.12 or 1.4.13 match the presented checksum.

Regards
Stefan

Fixed

The checksum for SeaMonkey's add-on was inadvertently there.

Wrong version?

I downloaded GPG_for_Thunderbird_Portable_1.4.15.paf.exe from the site and installed it. But when I checked the version, gpg.exe says it's 1.4.13. So I installed the latest version manually. I downloaded gnupg-w32cli-1.4.15.exe from ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary and opened the file using 7zip. I copied the contents to the default GPG portable folder \PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\App\gpg overwriting the older files. I confirmed the upgrade by typing gpg.exe --version. 1.4.15 it is.

Wrong version!

I'm verifing the observation made by DannyJr. The new 1.4.15 executables is the December 20 2012 version 1.4.13.

Revision 2

1.4.15 Rev 2 fixes the issue with the older GPG files included in the package. Apologies for the mixup.

GnuPG 1.4.16 needed

And again, GPG for Thunderbird Portable is vulnerable and GnuPG 1.4.16 is needed!
http://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-announce/2013q4/000337.html

IMHO this security critical software should find its way to the PortableApps Updater!
i've seen on my stick gpg still v1.4.9 Sad

15 is here

the x15 is here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/portableapps/GPG_for_Thunderbird_Portab...

for the x16 you can just get the binary from the gnupg.org and copy the gpg.exe over the old one, will do the job as well.

yeah thx, i already found

yeah thx, i already found this manual way on my own.

but i still think: no not-so-technical user will do this. (since the right windows binaries are very hard to find at the GnuPG Page)
I hope someone could help to get this package into the Updater Program. (i dont know how)

Anyway, i provide my steps how i updated it:

1. Download this: ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/gnupg-w32cli-1.4.16.exe
2. Extract the downloaded .exe manually with 7Zip.
3. Copy all extracted files (you can skip the $PLUGINSDIR) to you PortableApps Folder into: ThunderbirdPortable\App\gpg and overwrite all files.
4. Now you are save for the "listening attack".
