Menu Screen Location

I want the Menu to stay docked in the upper right corner of my screen. I've placed it here repeatedly, but it seems to float around on the right side at random when i start my machine. Would it be difficult to add an option in Preferences for this, or am I just missing something really obvious here?

Exiting?

It remembers based on 9 quadrants. Vertical is top, middle or bottom. Horizontal is left, center or right. It's based on where the menu is when you exit it. If you shut down Windows without closing the platform, though, it won't save the setting. Are you exiting it properly?

Exiting..

I thought that I had been, but I might not be as consistent about it as I thought I was...I do know there are times I just "dump the system" and let Windows close whatever is left, so that's probably it. Thanks for the reply..:)

nope...doesn't work

Have been making absolutely sure that I'm exiting the menu before shutting the system down, and it's not remembering the screen location.

It's a minor annoyance at worst...

Position

I can confirm that it works, but it may not work as you expect it to. It only remembers one of nine locations and center and middle are large. Essentially, it'll only remember if you're in the corner if you're really in the corner. If you're 150px out of the corner, it will assume you meant middle or center. Why? Because the screen resolution changes as you move PCs.

To check, place it where you want and exit the menu. Then explore to X:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data and open the file PortableAppsMenu.ini. At the end of the first section, DisplayOptions, you'll see something like this:

StartPositionHorizontal=Right
StartPositionVertical=Top

That's what mine says after I stuck it in the upper right of my monitor and then exited. When I start it again, it's in the upper right. If I move it to the bottom left and exit, it reads:

StartPositionHorizontal=Left
StartPositionVertical=Bottom

If this is not working when you exit, then you could have some corruption on your drive.

Screen docking

Thanks, I'll check on it.
I keep it docked in the top right corner, anything else bugs me, /go figure.

I think I'll turn off the autostart with windows, so I can check the ini file before starting the app for awhile.
