THIS IS GPL OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE AND IS PERFECTLY OK AND LEGAL.
It would be a great addition to your site
download and test it 1st (it all works, personally tested it)
i also added a launcher program to make it easier.
enjoy,
Your link is dead, surely you are good to give lessons to others about hosting files, but you cant host anyfile yourself

sorry for the inconvenience of stupid hosting thinking stuff is illegal because they need their brains checked ^^
IT WAS YOU WHO REPORTED IT YOU ******* IDI*T (albator)
go away
"This file was deleted because of: Complaint.Illegal content"
I don't get it. ClamAV is open-source. Hosting it somewhere other than the official site doesn't violate the copyright, since it's GPL. Whoever lodged that complaint is seriously misinformed.
OMG they are stupid , would you like me to upload it to somewere else guys
This is actually one of the apps I'm working on. I've been holding the release until ClamAV fixes the false positive detected within Portable OpenOffice.org as it would be damn silly to release a portable antivirus utility that detects a virus in one of my other apps.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I've recently toyed with this, and got it working.
It doesn't pick up anything in Portable Openoffice, and works nicely on all of my test machines (WinXP, WinXP SP2, and Win2k).

Please note that I don't have a launcher setup, as I haven't really had time to dig into setting it up. For now, just extract to where ever, and run "ClamAV-GUI.exe".
Thank 4 the new links, and dont be paranoiac

How big do you expect it to be?

Portable ClamWin will be great but it would still require frequent/occasional engine updates as with the standard install to have the latest engine + definitions right?
Sadly that means great but also a hassle...
I happen to have a full working version of PortableClamWin that is even partially integrated into the suite using a modified version of the John's launcher. So far I have had no problems with running and updating the program. The setup I have does not store anything in the data directory at this time since clamwin stores the files in the apps db folder. This is a great tool for anyone who trouble shoots computers and wants to be able to run a full system scan. If anyone is interested, I can make the program available for download.
I AM VERY....interested. Please let me know how I can get this. Thanks for your work.

Sorry for the delay. Place the zip file in your PortableApps directory and extract. It should place the executables in the PortableClamWin directory under apps and the launcher in the PortableApps directory. Just run with the launcher. The launcher is a slightly modified version of the one John uses in PortableFileZilla. The source code can be found in the PortableClamWin directory under sourcecode.
Have fun and let me know how it works. I have not optimized the executables or dlls with upx so feel free to try it. Also, make sure you run the update before you use it just to make sure you are up to date. As a diagnostic tool, this should work very well.
I've tried to upx (r 3.2.1. b 2007, I know, they're pulling my leg...)the proggie, but seem to be running into an issue: when I compress said files (with the launcher compressed in test one, and uncompressed in test 2), the updater will the refuse to work. Everything works just fine again when I replace the compessed files with the original backup; mabey I'm missing something? I'm using the GUI, not the command line (I'm a little new at that, and not a lot of people left to teach me, lol). Anyone else having similar problems...?
Hi Ashes,
I think that there is no AV-software that like modification of any kind of their EXEs and DLLs. There MUST be integrity checks to make sure that no malware is controlling the AV-software.

Certain .exe and .dll files can't be UPX'd. For example, the scanning .dll cannot for ClamWin to work. Try to experiment.

Portable Apps are cool. End of story.
Makes sense... (when one actually thinks about it, perhaps I should get some more sleep...) Anyway, I'll see what I can do with some of the other dll's.
