Language settings not saved
Half a year ago I reported that language settings are not saved in portable version. Half a year passes. No change.
Can't do it right? Unable to? Then don't do it at all. I mean, why bother making it portable, if you can't do it right? Can't - don't bother.
Can't, Bug
Skype doesn't properly read the saved language setting when passed the /datapath and /removable switches. It's a long-standing bug in Skype itself. Well known, documented, reported to the publisher, unfixed. And we've commented about it when it's brought up as a bug previously.

So, we can either save the language and run Skype in local mode and move things back and forth to the local machine, but lose the ability to save your password.... or we can save the password between sessions but have Skype just read the language setting from the PC's ANSI settings.
We chose the latter as the vast majority of people are using a PC with the ANSI setting set to their preferred language.
