Portable Ghostscript path in Portable scribus

I have been unable to get Portable scribus to save the path to Portable Ghostscript. Both are installed outside the Platform, and maybe that's the only way it will work, but I would like to get it work without the Platform.

Actually, the same applies for the image editor. Pscribus seems to be hardcoded for Portable gimp, which I neither have nor need.

Where is the preference file saved, or how can I force Portable scribus to save the path to gswin64c.exe?

Thanks in advance,

Alongside

Install them alongside each other. Both in a X:\PortableApps or similar directory (X:\PortableApps\ScribusPortable, X:\PortableApps\GhostscriptPortable).

Not Quite

Ghostscript Portable is a Commonfiles plugin, so needs to be installed to X:\PortableApps\CommonFiles\Ghostscript.

You can have them both installed to the root of the drive, but Ghostscript needs to be installed to the Commonfiles directory for Scribus Portable to automatically pick it up. (Well, technically it doesn't HAVE to be in that location, but you need to some leg work otherwise, and this is the only way we support - see here, lines 67-75 for what I mean.)

In other words, you can install Scribus Portable to X:\ScribusPortable (or X:\Scribus, for that matter) and so long as Ghostscript Portable is installed to X:\Commonfiles\Ghostscript, Scribus Portable will pick it up automatically.

As far as not using GIMP - feel free to use another image editor. In order to do so, at the moment you'll need to edit the file X:\PortableApps\ScribusPortable\App\Appinfo\Launcher\ScribusPortable.ini, and change the value line in FileWrite1 to point at whichever app you'd like. Note that with apps released by us, you should be pointing at appnamePortable.exe, not appname.exe . Also, if you do do this, when we release an update to the next version, this edit will be lost.

I am working on adding support for the other image editors we have, defaulting to GIMP, for the next release.

Thanks for the thoughts, but

Thanks for the thoughts, but that is exactly what I have done: \apps\scribus and \apps\ghostscript, with the GS path in scribus set to \apps\Ghostscript\bin\gswin64c.exe.

no renaming

you need to keep it as GhostScriptPortable and all paths within. The directory names are keyed to work together like that.
