IObitUninstallerPortable

I downloaded IObit Uninstaller Portable apps and copied it to my portable hard drive. On installing the apps it installed itself on to my computer and downloaded extra files from internet without requesting to do so. I therefore un-installed the apps. I then had to manually remove a service it had installed on my PC 'Live Update'. Was this supposed to happen? If so should there not be a warning. I was under the impression that the idea of portable apps is you can use them on computers without installing files.

Thanks for any help that can be offered.
PortableApps.com is a great site thanks

More Info

We'll need some more info as this is not normal behavior. First, are you sure it 'installed' when you installed the portable app (which is just extracting) or did it occur when you ran it for the first time? Second, what operating system do you have and what was the full path you installed to? Third, what version of it did you download and run?

For comparison, I just installed and ran it on my Windows 7 x64 machine and experienced none of the behavior you witnessed.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Hi John, thanks for your response. Answer to your second question first.
OS Windows 8.1 x64 .... I copied the downloaded apps to my portable drive,

F:Down/Movie>Working>Portable Programs>IObitUninstallerPortable
I extracted the file from that location, to update existing apps.

Answer to your third question. I downloaded v3.1 to update v3.0.4.922

Answer to your first question. I could not remember when the apps installed on my machine, extracting or first run, so I decided to give it a another try. I extracted v3.0.4.922 and ran it, no problems. I then extracted v3.1 and ran it to update v3.0.4.922, no problems either. So whatever happened last time I have no idea, all I can say is it did go to internet and down load extra files and install the service file 'LiveUpdate.exe'.
The IObitUninstallerPortable v3.1 is the original one I downloaded as I did not remove it from my downloads folder.

Thanks again John, It would be interesting to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.
