Platform not installing

I am having trouble installing the portable apps platform. I downloaded PortableApps.com_Platform_Setup_11.2.exe. I am running a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with Windows 8.1.

When I try to run the installer, it just says "This App can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher."

I think I saw that it supports windows 8.1, so I'm not sure what's going on. Any thoughts?

Windows RT

Are you sure it's Windows 8.1 Pro and not Windows 8.1 RT (aka fake Windows)? I think that message only shows up when you try and run a real Windows installer or app on fake/light/RT Windows.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's real windows. Here's what the computer properties show:

Possibilities

There are two possibilities, then. Either you're somehow trying to run it from the hobbled Metro interface or Metro IE (hint: run it directly from the Desktop) or the download is corrupt and Windows 8 shows you this horribly unhelpful error message instead of letting the app tell you that.

You're right, corrupted file.

You're right, corrupted file. The location I was trying to download from had some kind of firewall on the network. It's weird that it looked like the file was downloaded even though it actually failed. I downloaded it from another network and it ran immediately.

Thanks for the help!
