[Request] Silently update apps

Can we have an option to silently update portable apps on starting up / shuting down PortableApp main exe? Or maybe the ability to silently run PortableAppsUpdater.exe (standalone). I use an application launcher (FaRR) and would prefer to just run the apps directly.

It also would be useful to have a log about PortableApps main exe and updater actions.

Unattended

We're not planning on a silent version as it's designed to be used with the platform, but we are planning on adding unattended so it will automatically start to update your apps and run minimized. We're working on making it so the platform knows when apps are being updated so you don't try and run them during the process and so it catches apps set to autorun so they don't.

Silent Mode With Platform

As stated, we have no plans of offering a silent update other than the silent one included with the platform. This is the expected way for the installers to be used in an automated fashion. If someone has a specific need that is not being fulfilled, we're happy to learn more.

I am running

I am running PortableAppsUpdater.exe /MODE=ADDALL and /MODE=UPDATE automatically on a full application suite with over 300 apps through Windows Tasks once every week respectively. Sometimes I only have time for it once every month. It is really annoying to install 60+ or even 100 application updates manually after a long time of absence.

Geez

Why would you need 300+ apps? I thought my platform was overflowing and I only have 83? How many Gigs is your flash drive?

Doesn't need to be a flash drive.

I use the portable apps on the normal HDD for ease of backup, lack of inference/junk left on the computer.
Portability isn't just about going from one computer to another, as there are benefits to using them on just one.

If at first you do not succeed, use more sticky tape.

Oh, that makes more sense.

I completely forgot that some people have portable apps on their hard drive. Basically for me, my flash drive is my hard drive. I have a really crappy computer with a 15GB hard drive, which is almost full, so I use my flash drive for pretty much everything.

Platform

Remember that you must run the updater from the platform or the installers will not run in silent mode.
