I need some app reccomendations

I need a couple recommendations for software. I need

-A text editor good for editing HTML
-A ZIP opener
-GUI web editor similar to Dreamweaver
-A video editor
-Calculator (preferably graphing)

Also, how do you use jPortable and what is a bootable USB drive?

Text and Zip

I recommend Notepad++ for raw HTML editing. And customize the theme to something you like using the Style Configurator. I have mine on Bespin at the moment with DejaVu Sans Mono.

For zip, 7-Zip always works well. And it's pretty lightweight, even if the UI isn't so pretty. The portable package auto-switches between 32-bit and 64-bit. If you want a prettier UI, you can use PeaZip. It also auto-switches and uses 7-Zip underneath.

Notepad++ has a Style Configurator? I never knew that! Thanks!

Fonts

It does. Picking a font you like for coding makes things much easier. You can carry them around portably within the PortableApps.com Platform which makes them available for Notepad++ Portable.
