i dont know about reading

i dont know about reading test but 1 screenshoit mnaker i know here is light screen portable

Im not sure if ABBYY SSR is

Im not sure if ABBYY SSR is portable, so assuming you just want a freeware OCR alternative, based on what I have tested as Freeware OCR Software and am happy with I can suggest:

AdvancedPDFUtilitiesFree from PDFCore

There is another one, but I will have to post its name when I find it on my other computer.

the other OCR freeware suggestion

the other one I have tested is called "Free OCR to Word" "ocrtoword DOT com".

there are other sites which might have similar names, that is why i have given the link.

I have tried the gImage

I have tried the gImage reader so far, really inferior performance compare to ABBYY. It just do not read the words correctly or at all.

I hope the others are better.
