MPC-HC loads default settings instead of those set in \Data\settings\mpc-hc.ini

Here's what happened. I've extracted the program, started it, opened Options > Formats > Association > Modify. In other words I tried to associate this player to open video files by default. Association is working fine but for some reasons MPC-HC loads default settings instead of those I set in \Data\settings\mpc-hc.ini. Any help?

Assocation Within App = Local

When you associate within a portable app, you're associating the local version of MPC-HC included within MPC-HC Portable. So, it'll use the local settings since it's running in local mode.

To properly associate, you need to associate MPC-HCPortable.exe with files. You can do this with one of the add-ons in the forum like eXpresso or Portable File Associator. You can also do it manually. The ability to do this automatically via the PortableApps.com Platform will be coming in a future release.

I figured that about MPC-HC

I figured that about MPC-HC that's included within MPC-HC Portable. So, If I don't want to use those programs or PA Platform I need to do it directly through computer's Control Panel?

Right-Click

It varies by Windows version, but in most you can right-click the file you want to open, select Open With... and then Choose Default Program. You can then click Browse... and select MPC-HCPortable.exe. That will associate it properly.

Of course, I thought of CP

Of course, I thought of CP because it's easier to associate all the formats in one place. TY!
