When FeedNotifier Portable is used and running when the PC is ShutDown, at next use the following error-box is given :
Feed Notifier Portable (PortableApps.com Launcher)
Feed Notifier Portable did not close properly last time it was run and will now clean up. Please then start Feed Notifier Portable again manually.
I've been using the regular FeedNotifier for years and never had similar problems.
The same applies to Virtual Magnifying Glass Portable :

Virtual Magnifying Glass Portable did not close properly last time it was run and will now clean up. Please then start Virtual Magnifying Glass Portable again manually.
I think it's all related to the fact PortableApps doesn't leave the data at the original location.

It is one of the current limitations of PortableApps, and most of our apps will do that.
An upcoming version of the Platform will shut down your apps properly when Windows shuts down which will stop this from happening.
You must close apps before shutting down Windows. If you don't, you'll see that message telling you to be sure to shut them down properly.
Windows does a horrible job closing software. It'll even crash a local Firefox install on many occasions. Apps should be closed on their own.
An upcoming version of the PA.c Platform will allow you to gracefully (and properly) close all your apps as you exit.
