Install the same portable app many times (with update)

Hello everyone,
I discovere PortableApps Platform two days ago and is a great software.
Now my question are:

1. Is it possible with PortableApps Platform to install a Portable App (Firefox Portable for example) more than once?

2. If I have multiple installation of the same portable app (for now I've moved my fireforx portable folders in the PortablApps Platform installation directory and I can see all of them in the menu list) how can I update all of them when I perform a check for the Update in the Applications menu?

Thanks.

Can't Yet, Better Option

You can't yet. The platform only supports the FirefoxPortable directory for updates (as well as the other AppIDs for the other Firefox versions like ESR, Nightly, etc). If you want multiple separate profiles for Firefox, you should use Firefox Portable 2nd Profile to set it up. This allows you to have multiple profiles independent of each other all tied to a single version of Firefox.

In an upcoming release, the platform will be able to handle additional copies. If they're named FirefoxPortable, FirefoxPortable_Copy_2, FirefoxPortable_Copy_3, etc it will update them all. The ability has already been built into the PA.c Installer, we just have to add it to the PA.c Updater.

Thank you John for reply.I

Thank you John for reply.
I used Firefox Portable as an example of a portable app.
I use multiple portable app also different from Firefox.

Now I have multiple App installed in the PortableApp Platform directory and I see all of them in the menu list.
Some of the are up to date some other are older version.

When the upcoming release (is it the 11.3?) will be available will I be able to update all this portable app (the older and the up to date versions) I already have installed?

Specific Folders

As mentioned, it will only work with specific folders. AppNamePortable, AppNamePortable_Copy_2, AppNamePortable_Copy_3, etc. It won't work with any other folder names. If you name it AppNamePortable_2 it will show up on the menu but will not be updated.

It will be in an upcoming release, but not necessarily the next release (12.0) as there is A LOT on the list competing for attention: https://portableapps.com/node/28593

Thank you again. I've counted

Thank you again.
I've counted how many Firefox Portable Apps I've installed (80 different Firefox PA!!) and I think there is no solution at least for me.

Anyway good to know that will be this feature in the next release.

Rename

Just rename them as I outlined above and the platform will be able to update them in an upcoming release. It doesn't help you right now, but it will later.

I named every dir of Firefox

I named every dir of Firefox Portable according to the relative subject of the pages I opened with that specific session: subject_1, subject_2, subject_3, etc.

If I rename all this directories with Copy_2, Copy_3, etc. I will lose any reference to the subjects without using the PA Platform.

In the PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Data\PortableAppsMenu.ini there is the [AppsRenamed] section where I can see the reneamed PA.
Anyway for 80 directory I don't know how much it will be efficient to move from PA Platform to another PC with no possibility to install the PA Platform and to rename every time all the directories.

I need to test this new feature whe it will be available to verify if I could use it for my PAs.
