Firefox ESR 31.0

Hello, I noticed that Firefox 24.7.0 has been recently released, but the following FTP symlink http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest-esr/win32... points to ESR version 31.0. Will the portable app become 31.0 or remain 24.7.0? Thanks.

Byron

Switch to Stable

If you want the new version right away during the transition period (when Firefox ESR is available in two versions simultaneously), you should switch to stable. Firefox stable 31 and Firerfox ESR 31 are exactly the same app, just upgraded on different channels. Upgrading to Firefox ESR 31 the day it comes out completely negates the purpose of using ESR.

Complete details on why as well as how and when each switch is handled are here:

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Re: Switch to Stable

Ah, makes sense, and appreciate that linked article. Sounds like I personally want to stay on stable. But that does answer my question as to the purpose of ESR and how it's handled. Thanks.
