Hello. Long time, no forum.
Is there any application currently in the PA.c stable that allows me to locate and remove duplicated or cloned files?
After years of accumulating files, moving them around on drives and making numerous backups for OS reinstalls, I'm 100% certain that I've created more than one or two duplicates along the way.
I see there have been one or two suggestions on the forums already from searching:
Duplicate Files Finder: http://doubles.sourceforge.net/
AllDupe: http://www.alldup.de/en_index.htm
These seem to be the popular two.
I'm currently trying out DupeGuru (http://www.hardcoded.net/dupeguru/) but I'm happy to switch to a PA.c alternative if such an option exists (I don't mind if it's functionality within a "toolbox" application).
This one has no stored settings and took me just 5 minutes to pack into a PAF (just getting icons, help, etc). I could post this sometime this week as a new app since we need one for the week anyway.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
That would great! I'm slowly moving to a PA.c-only stable of apps.
Thanks John. Hope you're back on your feet and fighting fit.
I didn't post back in this thread, but I released it earlier today: https://portableapps.com/news/2014-08-06--duplicate-files-finder-portabl...
I'm doing better, thanks. Won't be back at 100% for a bit, but a lot better than I was. I should post a final update.
