Can't update to new PortableApps.com Platform
That means either you're blocked from downloading within the platform from SourceForge or that SourceForge is having issues. I know they were having some issues with a couple of their mirrors yesterday.
Try downloading directly from the page and see if that works for you: https://portableapps.com/download
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Can you host on another website like Softpedia, Majorgeeks or FileHippo?
You can't do direct download from any of those, so our platform wouldn't be able to update. You can only do downloads from their website to see their ads.
SourceForge allows us to do downloads from the browser as well as direct downloads form the updater so the platform can self update.
Please provide the details I asked for below so I can determine where and how you're being blocked.

I haven't been able to update since the 21st. I get a 11 KB file when I download from Sourceforge and switching mirror didn't remedy the situation.
Please open the file in a text editor like Notepad++ Portable and let us know what it contains. If the wrong file is on some mirrors, it would help to know.
It's fine on the mirrors I checked and I have no issues upgrading from 11.2 or any 12.0 Beta to 12.0.1 here.

Says "This program cannot be run in DOS mode." then a bunch of gibberish
That's because it's not a program. Please open it up in Notepad++ or similar. It's likely an HTML file with an actual error message in it. That's what I'm trying to help you find.

Oh sorry, I wasn't very specific. I opened it in Notepad++, that was the file contains. There's nothing else readable beyond that one line.
I just downloaded some random apps across the source forge website and all the downloads were complete files as far I can tell. So maybe I'm not blocked after all
I have AVAST updated and it looks like that Avast blocks update and regular download. Disabling Avast for update resolves problem.
I am very angry at Avast, it didn't even had pop up for blocking exe file :/ grr.
Btw it seems that menu got awesome with this update Thank you John T. Haller on this update
P.S. Can you inform Avast also to stop blocking update
Avast seems to be reporting a clean bill of health for both the full installer (VirusTotal result) and patch installer (VirusTotal result).
If Avast itself is interfering with updates, PLEASE report it to Avast directly.

I re-uploaded both the full and patch installer which should kick all the SourceForge mirrors to be sure they have the proper file. I also confirmed both aren't detected as false positives by any antivirus apps. If it fails this time, please try disabling your antivirus (just temporarily) and downloading. Then turn it back on and scan the downloaded file before running. Clearing your browser's cache can also help if it thinks the file isn't changed and just keeps copying it out of cache.

Updates are working now, thanks.
Glad to hear it. And thanks for letting me know!
