Personal picture configuration

Hi john,

is it currently possible to configure the position and size of the personal picture? I couldn't find any settings.

Kind regards,

Fixed Position

It's a single setting to set the picture or clear it. Its position is fixed in each theme.

In the future

As you are about to introduce custom theming again would it be possible to make this settings custom in the future?

By Theme

It will be up to each theme where the personal picture will appear.

Ah

Ah, so it will be possible in the future! Great news! Thanks! Smile
Will it be possible to set the size, too?

Nope

That would make for a bad user experience as their personal picture would change size as they change theme. And Delphi doesn't do the best job of stretching/shrinking images.

No stretching

I didn't mean stretching the image. I simply thought about the frame size.

No Frame

There is no frame. It's just the image as it appears on the background. And you can make the background look however you want. So if you want to draw a frame around it, go ahead.

Misunderstanding

Oh no! That's a misunderstanding. Sorry, I was too short.
The personal picture currently appears in a defined square area on the right side of the top. The size of that square is what I meant.

It Doesn't

No, it doesn't. There just a hover effect when you move over it. To indicate that it's clickable. There is no frame or other visible effect to it at all. You will not be able to change the size of the hover effect nor should you be able to.

Let's stop talking about the custom theming feature that doesn't exist yet for the time being so I can continue finishing the features that do exist and the 12.0.2 release.

Size of picture, not size of hover effect.

I think PortableUser2009 was asking about custom sizing of the picture not the hover effect, but as I understand it the picture is 48px by 48px and this is unlikely to change.

No

Currently the Personal Picture has a 48px by 48px frame in which it sits. (see the border by hovering over it)
The closest you can get to setting the size and position of your Personal Picture is that you can take a 48px by 48px transparent image and place an image at your preferred (less than 48px by 48px) scale, in your preferred position on that 'background' (with an image editor such as GIMP).
