I am trying out FF P and am having a trouble with https sites or any secure site. it keeps blocking me from going to those sites and asks me to "get out of here" or to add an exception. does anyone know why this is?

We've run into this a few times over the years and here are the causes we've seen:
1. Corruption of the Firefox install or drive causing it to be unable to load its security component. Check the drive for errors and reinstall Firefox Portable over the top of itself to rule this out.
2. Permissions issues on the drive causing Firefox to be unable to load its security component. This doesn't sound like your issue, though.
3. Interference from a 'helpful' antivirus program that wants to intercept and analyze HTTPS traffic for viruses. You can usually click the button to examine the security certificate. When you do, you'll see it's signed by your antivirus vendor (example: Kaspersky)
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
i checked the disk for errors there was none, i tried reinstall and that didn't work.
i looked at the "technical details" for when i get the connection issue and this is what i get
"google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"
i don't see any virus/firewall program blocking it. i use the same drive for other portable devices so i am not sure it is permission issue either.
Seeing your new post which includes the specific error message I doubt that this is the cause of your specific issue, but as it is a common reason for secure sites not to load I figured I'd post it a) so you can check (just in case) and b) for anyone else who can't load secure sites and comes here through a search.
Anyway, sometimes secure sites won't load because the system date is incorrect. In these cases the Technical Details will usually say something about the certificate being expired, or not yet valid (depending on your current system date), and can be fixed by changing the system date and time settings to the correct date.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone at some point in time even if it doesn't fix your issue.
